The Rachet Hipster Who Dis?

 Hi Friend! On Instagram I go by “The Rachet Hipster,” but you can call me Donna.

I’m a Botanical Curator. What that means is I help would be green thumbs find the right houseplant to thrive in their space. I help you discover the joy and healing power of plants.

Growing up I’ve always been surrounded by plants. I remember my love for growing things started with my grandparents' garden. They had endless rows of fruits and vegetables. Their yard was surrounded by fragrant lilac trees that came to life in the spring. I’d often help my grandmother pick strawberries and eat most of the ones in the bunch before they got to her kitchen counter. 

Living in a NYC apt, I don’t get to fulfill my childhood dreams of a lush garden.  However, the next best thing for me was that I started bringing the outdoors in.  I’ve always had some sort of plants in my space. My collection started growing rapidly around 2015 as a way to cope  in an increasingly tumultuous world. Currently I’m a plant mama to over 80 houseplants living in New York City that I’ve curated over the last six years. Learning about and caring for plants has been one of my greatest rewards. Its the reason why I started my instagram, and this website, to help others find the joy and healing power in plants.
